Bible Camp Follow-up Event

Please be praying with us for a follow-up event taking place this Saturday for the kids and youth that took part in the recent Grain Game 5-day Bible camp in Karcag. Gary is billing this event as the camp’s “Day 6″…the fun and relationships will continue, with the focus still on Bible truths experienced through interactive, creative demonstrations. This event is not only a follow-up to the camp, but will also serve to connect these kids to ministries that take place during the school year.

  • Pray for Gary as he plans and presents the program, that the teachings will connect with where the kids are spiritually and be very clear in Hungarian.
  • Ask that the Holy Spirit will soften hearts and open spiritual eyes to Bible truths.
  • Pray that the young people and their families will be drawn to faith in Christ and get involved with discipleship and service in the local church and community.

Volunteer urgently needed

There is an urgent need for a native English speaker to teach beginner-level English students grades K-4 at a Christian school in Debrecen, Hungary. The teacher need not have a teaching certificate, but should be able to teach the alphabet, basic words, songs, etc. The regular teacher is dealing with a serious medical situation and is expected to be out at least three months. For more information please contact us. This is the school’s website; it’s in Hungarian, but you can see photos.

Even if you can’t help by teaching, please forward to anyone who might be able to help, and please pray for the teacher and her family during this time of difficulty.  Thank you!

GG Camp update

Thank you again to all who prayed for the July 24-28 Grain Game camp in Karcag. Most of those at the camp were not “church kids,” and a lot of gospel seeds were sown.  Please keep lifting up those who heard the Good News, and for those who also spent time in inductive Bible study with Gary.    The guys Gary was working with said that they believe in God but that they aren’t ready to trust Him yet.  May that day come very soon!

We are thankful for the ministry of the Karcag Baptist church and for the work of Grain Game both in Hungary and around the world. Praise the Lord with us for how He is working through His Word, using His people in many creative ways. Here are some pictures from the week.

Our thanks to Grain Game and Grain Game photographer extraordinaire Marci Erdei for the use of the photos.

Grain Game Hungary Conference

Praise the Lord for how He is working!  Thank you so much for your prayers for the Grain Game and for their work in reaching young people for Christ.

The conference that took place in Érd on January 27 and 28 had about 150 in attendance, and it was encouraging to see so many people interested in learning more about how to reach kids in the often-neglected age group of 10-15.

Pray for us and others who will be doing follow-up training with workers for future Bible camps and ongoing small groups.

Tiszafüred camp update

Thank you for praying for the kids’ Bible camp in Tiszafüred last week.  Fewer came than we had hoped (we are discussing how to reach more next year) but nevertheless a great time was had by all; PTL, gospel seeds were sown in the hearts of children and even a few adults, too!  Grain Game worker Luke Higdon did a wonderful job of teaching bite-sized biblical truths, illustrated by hilariously memorable games and activities…lots of shaving cream, water (which was very welcome in the blazing July heat), bubbles, beach balls, etc, etc.

Here are some photos from the week.  As you share in these fun memories with us, pray for each child and the families they represent, asking the Lord to use the truths taught to transform lives and to impact families and the community for Christ.  Pray that the little church plant will be encouraged and continue to grow, glorifying God and spreading the Good News all across the area.
